THE STORY:

As the presidential election of 1860 takes place, tension is high and the United States is on the brink of civil war. Despite winning less than 40% of the popular vote, Abraham Lincoln becomes the 16th President. Then, with an unprecedented decision, Lincoln appoints his political rivals to his cabinet. Every member of his administration is better known, better educated, and more experienced. Lincoln knows that, even though they are barely on speaking terms, in this time of peril, the nation needs the strongest people for the betterment of the Union.

Even as the Civil War rages, Lincolnʼs philosophy of cooperation among his enemies remains. When criticized for speaking of kind treatment of Southerners, Lincoln responds:

“I destroy my enemies when I make them my friends.”

Today, the number of breweries is at an all-time high with the competition stiffer than ever. And though we fight for the same draft lines, shelf space, and customers, the goal of each brewery is the same; deliver great tasting beer. So in that spirit, we’ve teamed up with one of our rivals, who now have become our friends, to bring you a great new taste. Cheers!
